ROHAN SALVADOR

I.ROHAN

Mexican culture is the main drive of the Unravel story and particularly shaped It's future for this character. This is something I grew up with, so watching movies such as ''Coco'', ''Book of Life'', and Western. At first we weren't sure what to do with his character, it was established he would be of Latin descent.
As the story started taking place and the plot started making it's own pathway, so we just listened to where it had to lead us. Then I remembered all those childhood movies I grew up about Mexico, and it made me realise how beautifully I appreciated their culture.
Day of the Dead is also very important for the same movie reasons. Rohan goes back to his culture and the days of his hometown Mexico City which he grew up in. To him , California feels different, and believes that living in the culture is very different than claiming is a medal you're born with. It's a different step to take and learn how to appreciate it.

His personality was bland in the process- but It was a blessing for discovering his introversion, instead of pushing a protagonist that will dominate the room every time. We learned that there was something hidden behind his quietness, that there was a bigger heart he had to show to the world, and that was hidden to him from his own personal struggles and burdens. He has to prove the innocence of his own with how the world portrays him, and that his job as a policeman is , not a paradox to his father's life of crime. We learned he is not an evil, that's why he is so angry! His story is powerful. He is sensitive, loyal, nurturing man. He loves and respects what he has, and on my hand one of the most human characters that take place in the story. If I had to choose, I would let him be the only one that deserves a happy ending, and that makes him a great protagonist.

And, maybe that’s the only reason humanity exists at all—because people like me refuse to disappear. I cannot hide this anymore.

Marlene Vanderscent - the eldest of the Vanderscent family and heir to their fortune - is an interesting woman. Not only is she a key player in the Peregrines, but she also serves as the second-in-command under John Andrej.
With all these accomplishments at her age, anyone else might be satisfied.
But under Marlene’s calm and regal façade lies an ambitious woman whose only goal is to reach higher - or set new heights if necessary.
Her most trusted friend and protector, Keyahi, is always at her beck and call – like a good friend should be. Whenever Marlene finds herself in trouble, she can count on him to assist her.
Her younger brother, Victor Vanderscent has been a thorn in her side for years. With his rowdy personality and reckless, no, stupid actions, he tarnishes their family image and her delicate pride. Marlene might have preferred him to be an actual competitor for succession instead of a petty criminal.

VICTOR VANDERSCENT

II.VICTOR

Victor has been one of the main character inspirations for the story setting, other than Rohan's passionate respect for the culture of Mexico and his family. Victor drives the true aesthetic of the story, a 2000s pop star scene. In the old concepts of the story, Victor was supposed to be the CEO, the main rich man. But we figured he is not worthy of that status and experienced, he developed as an unserious joke cracker that wouldn't have the concentration to do something like that.
But when it comes to Victor, he was always the symbolism of a wealthy old money man, and we went with this concept. Victor got his money (as promised), but in return me and my writer turned down his personality. Instead of being perfect all the time, he's now an explosive mess, impulsive, and has to face the consequences of it.
I am glad he stayed the bougie he always wanted to be. He's a character that speaks to me, with the promise of being a star. I am glad we made his wish come true. It helped us too. But he feels even more authentic after we dropped down some of his expensive personality by lots of bad personal life choices - unlike Rohan, who is always supposedly careful about what he does.
